If you’re travelling with the little ones, your kids will love the Family Luxury Tents giving them the independence of having their own bedroom and bathroom. When you are feeling sociable enjoy the welcoming spaces in the main lodge. The Mack & Madi Kids’ Adventure Safari Club eco-garden play area offers a wealth of activities to keep the young ones busy. Between the hours spent on safari, you can relax at the pool, enjoy an in-room spa treatment, or simply choose to take in the mountain views.

Glide down the winding Matlabas River on our charming Miss Mara flat-bottomed river boat. Whether in the morning or at sunset, you’ll witness countless game, from hippos in the river to foraging elephants at the water’s edge and a myriad of birds. Sit back and enjoy a cool beverage and snack as your field guide shares stories about life on the river. Our Miss Mara adventure is suitable for children six years and older.

Reawaken your senses with a walk on the wild side. This is your chance to immerse yourself in the bush, rather than just observing it. Your expert field guide will position you downwind of bigger game so as not to disturb them, while also highlighting the smaller creatures, insects, plants, and geology often missed on drives. We tailor the walk to your areas of interest. Our bush walks are suitable for children sixteen years and older.
Mack and Madi Kids Adventure
While you enjoy private time, our dedicated Mack & Madi crew of field guides and childminders will entertain your young ones from 5-11 years old. Our Safari Club Eco Garden is a child’s paradise and all-in-one bush entertainment space! Your children will learn how to track animals, camp in the bush, watch outdoor movies under the stars all while immersing themselves in nature. They will love the sense of freedom and adventure while making new friends.

Thabametsi Treehouse
Spend a night under the stars in our solar-powered treehouse, a remote and luxurious retreat spanning two levels. With an enclosed shower, bedroom, lounge, and viewing decks, you're treated to unspoiled views of the Waterberg and Marakele plains. Arrive at sunset for sundowners, enjoy a catered picnic, and as night falls, let the sounds and scents of the bush lull you to sleep. Beneath, wildlife engages in their nocturnal routines, while above, only the sky and stars keep you company. Our treehouse experience is for six years and older.

Our fifteen stone and canvas Luxury Tents are anything but basic. Relax in the king-sized bed, unwind in the en-suite bathroom where you can soak up to your chin or enjoy a refreshing outdoor shower. With a well-stocked craft bar and a shaded viewing deck, you can comfortably watch the game as it ambles by.

Each of the four Family Tented Suites gives children their own en-suite bedroom. It’s just like home (only better!) with a bunkbed, ample toys and games, fun bath-time amenities, robes and slippers, and a spacious shower. There’s plenty of room for everyone, while on a family safari, and the separate, en-suite main bedroom gives parents more of their own space to feel right at home, too.
